Community Involvement & Social Activities
We may not be the only firm to talk about how we work hard and play hard, but at Clark Wilson we actively create as many opportunities as possible for students, support staff and lawyers to get to know one another on a personal level. Social activities include a firm retreat, Friday night drinks, a softball team, a holiday party, a summer social, charity fundraisers and many other seasonal celebrations.

Best Wishes to a Retiring Partner
On Thursday evening we gathered for a warm Clark Wilson send-off for Larry Munn, as he embarks on the next phase of his career and transitions towards retirement. Larry has had a big and lasting impact in his 19 years with CW, not only as a leader in the areas of administrative, insurance and trade-mark disputes, but also as Chair (and heart) of the firm’s Lawyer’s Training Committee for many years, key developer and champion of the firm’s Mentor program, and our advisor on issues relating to privacy legislation and liability issues.
Salvation Army Vancouver Harbour Light
This past spring CW members volunteered for the community meal program also referred to as the Salvation Army’s Feeding Ministry or food line. The program provides nutritious free meals for men, women, and children in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside in a caring manner that dignifies and respects the individual. Members of the firm included staff, lawyers and students who attended the Salvation Army location in the Eastside and served meals from 11AM to Noon.
Did you know that approximately every minute of every day, someone in Canada needs blood?
Clark Wilson is a Partner for Life with the Canadian Blood Services and has committed to donating 15 units of blood this year. Having enrolled as a Partner with only a couple months left in the year, we can proudly say that we are already half-way to achieving our commitment.
Clark Wilson Participates in Movember
Clark Wilson is doing an impressive job in fundraising for Movember. You can track our efforts on our Clark Wilson Movember page. We have a great team of 34 men participating this year (some are missing from the shot below).
Clark Wilson Bowlers Rock and Roll at the Commodore
The 2014 annual bowling fundraiser for the United Way of the Lower Mainland did not disappoint. We had 75+ bowlers divided into teams with fun themes and costumes. It was a very successful event with excellent fundraising efforts by all of the teams.

2014 Hoop Law Charity Basketball Tournament
The annual Hoop Law charity basketball tournament was held March 15th and over $60,000 was raised. The combined donation from both teams registered from Clark Wilson was over $7,200, earning CW the award as the top fundraising firm. Thank you very much to everyone that donated.
On the court, the CW competitive team lost in the semi-finals by two points to eventual champions, UBC. The CW recreational team was much improved from last year and lost two close games. Thanks again to all of those that donated and special thanks to those that came out to cheer the CW teams on.
Annual Holiday Party
Clark Wilson’s 2013 holiday party, themed Winter Wonderland, was a great success. In keeping with the theme there was a snowman ice sculpture, snow cone station and Winter Wonderland décor. Every year the articling students are called upon to perform a skit and this year was no exception. The students did a fantastic job and got a lot of laughs. The night concluded with a DJ and dancing and the holiday spirit was felt by all.
Annual Billiards and Poker Night
Every fall Clark Wilson hosts its annual Billiards and Poker night at the Terminal City Club for UBC students. This casual and fun event is co-organized with the UBC Law and Business Society and provides an opportunity for UBC law students to get to know some of the people at Clark Wilson, show off their billiards skills and practice their poker faces. This year, 34 students joined us on September 26 for an evening of food, drinks and, of course, some billiards and poker. Thanks to all those who were able to make it out.

Hooplaw Charity Basketball tournament
We’re proud to be a part of Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. Our city isn’t just where we work–it’s where we live, play and have put down roots. Our entrepreneurial spirit extends to our community involvement. Clark Wilson is proud to have founded the Hooplaw Charity Basketball tournament that has raised approximately $1 million for various local charities.
Many of our lawyers are actively involved in their communities in different capacities, such as advising on boards of directors, volunteering their legal services on a pro bono basis and running, biking or hiking to raise funds for charity.
